"Do Dürer" Exhibition
International House
Albrecht Dürer was a German painter, printmaker, engraver, mathematician, and theorist from Nuremberg who is regarded as the greatest artist of the Northern Renaissance. Still in his twenties when he became famous throughout Europe, his vast body of work includes altarpieces and religious works, numerous portraits and self-portraits, and copper engravings. Tour the "Do Dürer" Exhibition a small group of lithographic state proofs based on Dürer's engravings and woodcuts created by UTK art students at the I-House this week.

All Day German Scavenger Hunt "Do Deutsch" Organization Site in BlackBoard Participate in the German Scavenger Hunt and Win Great Prizes! Login the "Do Deutsch" Organization Site in BlackBoard, Complete your Questionnaire, and Submit Online.
9:45—10:45am "The 'Staatliche Bauhaus' in Weimar and Dessau" Hodges Library, Room 213 Speaker: Barbara Klinkhammer, Associate Professor, UT School of Architecture

The "Staatliche Bauhaus" was the first academy for design in the world, and it brought together the most outstanding artists, graphic artists and designers, theatre people and architects.

6:00—8:00pm Coffee House @ I-House: Venture into Fairy-Tale Land! International House, Great Room What really happened to Little Red Riding Hood after she set out into the woods? How about what happened to little girls who play with matches, or little boys who are mean or suck their thumbs? Come hear original German fairy tales and other tales of warning (told both in English and German!) that will be sure get you in the Halloween spirit at Coffee House. Coffee House is a weekly event at the International House designed to promote social interaction between everyone in the university community (students, faculty and staff). In honor of do Deutsch! Week, this features German coffee, snacks, and the chance to win prizes!
6:30—7:30pm "do Deutsch" Starbucks Trivia Night RAIN VENUE: Smokey's in the University Center 90.3 The Rock and UT Dining will host a German Trivia night at the University Center's Starbuck's Patio from 6:30-7:30 PM. Answer questions about Germany and all things German to win prizes!
